Slip Fall Statistics

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recommends that walking surfaces maintain a minimum COF of 0.50. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) recommends that level walking surfaces maintain a 0.60 COF and that materials for inclined ramps maintain a more stringent 0.80 COF.

The latest non slip testing of the ALGRIP products is ASTM F-1679.  This test is performed by a Certified XL Tribometrist using the English XL Variable Incidence Tribometer (VIT).  The test results show an average dry Coefficient of Friction (COF) of 0.99, and a Slip Resistant Index of 0.93 when wet. This testing procedure assigns a value to the traction surface while that surface is testing under wet and dry conditions.

Prior to ASTM F-1679, our testing in accordance with ASTM C-1028 showed a 0.97 COF when testing dry Neolite and 0.96 COF when tested wet.
